Boreal

The main board is placed between the two players. The two card decks (starting cards and main deck) are shuffled separately. Each player receives a hand of starting cards and places their player marker on the '0' space of the income track. The display of cards is set up on the main board, with a mix of starting cards and cards from the main deck.

The objective of Boreal is to collect cards and build a four-level pyramid structure. Players aim to strategically place cards to maximize their victory points, which are primarily earned from the cards in their completed pyramid.

On your turn, you choose a card from the display to buy. The cost of the card is determined by its position on the display, and you pay by moving your player marker that many spaces towards your opponent's side. After buying, you add the card to your personal pyramid, following specific placement rules (cards must be supported by two cards below them). Finally, you gain income based on the cards visible in your pyramid's top-down view, and your player marker moves forward on the income track.

Victory points are primarily scored from the cards in your completed pyramid. Each card has a base point value. Additionally, some cards have special scoring conditions, such as granting bonus points for specific colors of adjacent cards, for being in certain positions within the pyramid, or for having particular symbols. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.

The game concludes immediately when one player successfully places the final card to complete their four-level pyramid. After this, the other player gets one final turn to make their last move. Following this, all players calculate their total victory points from their pyramids and any other scoring conditions.
