Corunna 1809: Moore vs. Soult

Corunna 1809: Moore vs. Soult depicts the last battle of 1808 campaign, when General Moore rushed on Sahagun, threatening the flank of the dispersed French forces. The battle ended with the pitiful retreat to Corunna and embarkation of the decimated British army on Royal Navy ships. If Marshal Jean de Dieu Soult had defeated General Moore on Corunna's fields, British losses would have been catastrophic. Perhaps there would not have been future successes of sir Arthur Wellesley in coming years, because the British government would have withdrawal from Iberian Peninsula.

The French army has advantages in artillery and cavalry, but it is not easy to exploit them. Guns must be set on good positions and cavalry maneuvers in difficult terrain. The French player can dismount his dragoon regiments and he can use them as infantry in skirmish order.

The British player has in his disposal good infantry, which performs very well during fire combat. His goal is to stay on the battlefield long enough to gain additional victory points. Of course the French player must prevent it, but bad prepared, to early conducted attack can last the whole effort.
