Sapling Scramble

Sapling Scramble is a set-collecting card game for 2-5 players that takes 3 minutes to learn and 10 minutes to play. Make deals or deceive your opponents, pluck cards right out of their hand, and collect ingredients from the forest floor as you scramble to be the first to brew 3 potions. But be careful! Taking cards from another player might help them more than it helps you!

You play as the adorable Sapling, scuttling about the forest floor gathering ingredients from beneath a tree. The deck of ingredients cards is placed face-down in the center of the table and is referred to as the Tree. To start the game, you "Shake the Tree", revealing 8 face-up cards around the Tree. The Sapling of the group, or the youngest player, goes first.

Each turn, you take 1 of 3 actions before play continues to the left:

 Steal a card from an opponent's hand
 Play a Berrybomb
 Brew a Potion

Any time a player takes a card from your hand, immediately grab one of the face-up cards from beneath the Tree. If a Berrybomb is grabbed this way, the Berrybom is discarded and you "Shake the Tree", re-filling any of the empty slots around the Tree with new face-up cards.

If you play a Berrybomb on your turn, "Shake the Tree" and grab a face-up card.

To brew a Potion, discard the 3 ingredients listed on your Potion recipe and flip the card over. The first to brew 3 Potions wins the game!

Sapling Scramble is best enjoyed with lots of table talk. Make deals with other players to get rid of cards you don't want, or lead them into your Berrybomb traps! This simple but socially exciting card game is a perfect for families, game nights, class rooms, or games on the go!
