The Adventurer's Tale

A solitaire push-your-luck roll & write game of dungeon design. Designed for the 5th Roll and Write Game Design Contest.

You must design a dungeon for an adventurer. Your aim is for the adventurer to survive to tell the tale, and for the tale to be worth the telling. Pack the dungeon with as many walls, treasures, potions, traps and monsters as you can get away with, but don't block the exit or kill the adventurer!

Roll 4 dice and use them to assign walls, a treasure, a monster, or occasionally a trap or potion to a location on the map. You may use shields to modify the dice rolls. But if you push your luck too far, you may end up creating rock falls and blocking the adventurer from reaching the exit.

A gamesheet is provided, but the game may also be played on squared paper. Multiple players may play simultaneously by using shared dice rolls.
