Gotham City is plagued by its most famous villains: Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Mr Freeze, Killer Croc and Man bat. Each player takes on the role of Batman, in a race to defeat these villains and save the city.

Players roll dice and move around the board collecting tokens and fighting villains, in order to collect transport tokens. these are in the form of the Batmobile, Bat Boat, and Bat Cycle, each of which allows the player to advance to the next level of the board. The first player to defeat a villain on level 4 is the winner.
