The theme of the game is running, and takes place in three stages. Each player tries to manage their three racers through training, qualifying, and then during the finals.

Each runner has three different qualities..

During training you roll dice and choose a pawn to advance, trying to land on beneficial squares and avoid landing on detrimental squares. The goal of this stage is to get tactic cards to help you win the qualifying race and the big final race.

In the qualifying rounds you roll dice and play cards in an attempt to get one of your better players, with more tactics cards qualified for the final. You are always guaranteed a place in the finals even if you fail to qualify (you get in on a 'technicality'). If that happens though you get no cards and no special abilities.

The finals is a more detailed race - with a race track, blocking, sprinting, and so forth.
