1. About howtoplay.ro

howtoplay.ro is an informational platform that aggregates and compares board game prices from online stores in Romania and offers short rules, tutorials, rankings and a community space (listings, reviews, tools).

The site is operated by a private individual as a hobby project. howtoplay.ro is not a store and does not sell games directly — it displays information and redirects you to partner stores.

2. Acceptance of the terms

By using the site you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms, as well as to the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

If you do not agree with any of these provisions, please do not use the site.

3. Nature of the service

The information on the site (prices, availability, descriptions, rules, rankings) is provided for informational purposes only and is collected automatically from external sources (store feeds, BoardGameGeek, Boardiacs and others).

We strive to keep the data up to date, but we do not guarantee that prices, stock or other information are complete, accurate or current at all times. The final price and availability are those shown by the relevant store at the time of ordering.

Always verify the details directly with the store before buying.

4. Affiliate links and prices

Some links to stores are affiliate links. If you make a purchase after following such a link, we may receive a commission from the store, at no additional cost to you.

This helps cover the running costs of the site. The commission does not influence the price you pay.

howtoplay.ro is not a party to the sale contract between you and the store. Any issue regarding the order, delivery, return or warranty is handled directly with that store.

5. User accounts

Certain features (price alerts, collection, listings, contributions) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out through your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and the data you provide at registration must be accurate.

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Data or by writing to us at liviu@howtoplay.ro. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

6. User-generated content

The site lets you publish content: marketplace listings, reviews, votes in the community tools and other contributions. You are solely responsible for the content you publish.

Illegal, deceptive, offensive content, content that infringes third-party rights, or content containing spam or harmful code is not allowed.

By publishing content you grant us a non-exclusive right to display it within the site. We may edit or remove any content that breaches these terms.

7. Second-hand listings

The listings section facilitates contact between users for selling, buying or trading second-hand games. Transactions take place exclusively between users.

howtoplay.ro is not a party to these transactions, does not verify the actual condition of items and offers no guarantees. We recommend caution and checking the item before payment.

Some listings may come from external sources (for example partner communities) and are shown for information only.

8. Intellectual property

The howtoplay.ro brand, design, code and original editorial content belong to the site operator and may not be copied or reused without permission.

Game data (descriptions, images, rankings) comes largely from BoardGameGeek, Boardiacs and partner stores and belongs to their respective owners. Game names and publisher trademarks belong to their owners.

9. Limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, being a hobby project. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties regarding uninterrupted operation, freedom from errors or accuracy of data.

We are not liable for purchase decisions made based on information on the site, for inaccurate prices or stock, for temporary unavailability of the service, or for transactions between users and stores or other users.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, where they apply.

10. Changes to the terms

We may change these terms at any time. The updated version is published on this page, with the last-updated date shown at the top.

Continued use of the site after changes are published means you accept the new version.

11. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Any disputes are resolved amicably and, failing that, by the competent courts in Romania.

Consumers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
