After the Fog

After the Fog is a game of exploration and expansion set in the Dew Point universe. Players are city leaders, reclaiming a valley that was once drowned in deep fog. As the fog recedes, you will build wealth and influence, and become the master of the valley.

After the Fog is an area-control game with airships, engine-building, and resource management. Players start with an airship and a base of operations. They spend the game exploring the board, collecting resources, capturing territory, and upgrading their fleets. The game is rated for 2 to 6 players, and takes roughly 1-2 hours.

SETTING: Dew Point is the setting for several Crab Fragment Games, and is a world of Renaissance-level technology, with heavier air and lighter materials that make airships a common form of transportation. The world is plagued by an ever-rising fog, which has separated cultures and power centers as it chokes low-lying cities out of existence. The Dearworth Valley is clearing after centuries in fog. Abandoned forests, farms, and mines are scattered throughout the countryside.

GAMEPLAY: After a starting auction in which players choose starting Cities and Characters, players take turns with each turn consisting of three steps:

 MARKET: new cards from the Market deck are revealed, which can trigger events
 MOVE: move one of your airships to a different location, and doing whatever is appropriate for that space (e.g. produce resources, or resolve conflict with another player) 
 BUY: buy one market card or pay for contracts

The end of the game is triggered when a certain number of events from the market have been triggered, after which scoring happens. Points are earned for controlled spaces, collected cards, airships, towers, rubies, and bonuses, and the player with the most points is the winner.
