Every player's turn is governed by a straightforward yet tactical three-step rhythm: roll your unique faction dice, place two of them onto action slots on your board or crew, and resolve those actions. Because the numbers you roll dictate your available moves, every single round forces you to adapt your strategy on the fly, balancing basic maneuvers like sailing and repairing with faction-specific tricks.

Scoring fame depends heavily on your chosen faction's strategy. Factions like the Bluefin Squadron and Mollusk Union compete in intense area control, wrestling for dominance over regions and scoring points based on patrols, strongholds, and flags. Meanwhile, Smugglers earn their living and fame through successful pick-and-deliver operations, zipping across the map to drop off precious cargo without getting caught in costly battles.
