In Akindo, players are merchants in Japan during the Edo period. Everyone starts out with a small store, and has to do their best to make it as big as possible.

Each round in Akindo has two phases: Purchase and Barker.

During the Barker phase, the active player rolls three dice and divides them between himself and one other player. This will gain those players coins, depending on the distribution of these dice. However, depending on how things turn out, you may be forced to pay to alter the numbers rolled, so you need to be careful about assigning the dice.

During the Purchase phase, goods are sold on the east and west markets. The players bid on the goods, with the highest bidder gaining the goods.

Collecting sets of goods gains you points. The player who scores the most points wins the game.
