Architects of the West Kingdom

Players set up the main board in the center, placing randomized market cards, building decks, apprentice cards, and resource supplies nearby. Each player receives a player board, twenty workers, two markers, and starting resources based on turn order. Players also draft building cards to form an initial hand of three, and place one marker on the cathedral and another on the virtue track.

The main goal is to impress the King and earn the most victory points. Players do this by gathering resources, hiring apprentices, constructing various buildings, and contributing to the construction of the cathedral, all while managing their moral virtue.

On your turn, you place a single worker on a board location to take actions. Locations allow you to gather resources like wood and stone, hire apprentices for bonuses, acquire new building plans, trade in the black market, or capture opponent workers. Placing workers in certain spots grows stronger with more workers present, but can also attract negative attention.

At the end of the game, players tally points from constructed buildings, cathedral progression, remaining marble, gold, and silver. Points are added or deducted based on final virtue standing, and players lose points for unpaid debts and workers trapped in prison.

The game's final triggering event occurs the moment a worker is placed into the very last available space of the guild hall. The active player finishes their turn, and every player gets one final turn before final scoring begins.
