Azul: Master Chocolatier

To set up Azul: Master Chocolatier, place the factory display tiles in a circle around the center of the table based on the player count. Fill each factory tile randomly with four chocolate pieces drawn from the velvet bag. Give each player a personal board, which can be used in the standard pre-printed color layout or flipped to the blank side for custom chocolate placement, along with a scoring marker.

The main objective is to score the most victory points by carefully drafting chocolate tiles, completing rows and columns on your player board, and forming specific color or pattern bonuses by the end of the game.

On your turn, you must take all chocolates of a single color from either a factory tile or the center pool. If you take from a factory tile, remaining chocolates slide to the center. You then place your chosen chocolates onto one of the pattern lines on your player board. If you take more chocolates than fit on your chosen line, the excess goes onto your penalty floor line.

When all factory tiles and the center pool are empty, the tiling phase begins. Completed pattern lines move one chocolate onto your factory grid, scoring points immediately for every adjacent connected tile horizontally and vertically. If you have chocolates on your penalty floor line, you lose points according to the penalty track at the bottom of your board.

The game ends at the conclusion of a round in which at least one player has successfully completed at least one full horizontal row of five chocolates on their grid. Final bonuses are then calculated for completed rows, columns, and sets of five chocolates of the same color.
