Azul: Queen's Garden

During setup, players receive their player boards, starting resources, and three wild elements. Hexagonal tiles with various patterns (butterflies, trees, plants, birds) and colors are placed around the central rotary wheel. The rotary wheel helps manage tile availability, and players take turns setting up their boards and acquiring their initial supplies.

The main goal of Azul: Queen's Garden is to create the most harmonious garden for Queen Maria of Aragon by strategically placing hexagonal tiles onto your player board. You aim to group matching patterns and colors, surround specific structures like fountains and statues, and fulfill the scoring conditions defined in each round.

On your turn, you can choose one of four actions: Acquire Tiles, Place Tiles, Place/Take a Garden Extension, or Pass. Acquiring tiles requires taking all elements of a chosen color or pattern from the display. Placing tiles involves paying their cost (using the same element or color) and positioning them adjacently on your board following strict color and pattern matching rules. Garden extensions expand your board space, and passing allows you to collect the first player token at the cost of one point.

Scoring happens at the end of each round based on specific colors and patterns indicated on the rotary wheel. You score points for every hexagon matching the active criteria. Additional bonus points are awarded for groups of three or more matching hexagons, and fully surrounding central features grants bonus wild tokens.

The game concludes after four complete rounds. Once all players have passed or completed their turns in the fourth round, final scoring is conducted. Any remaining jokers and leftover tiles in player storage are evaluated, adding bonus points for jokers and subtracting points equal to the value of unplaced tiles.
