Azul: Summer Pavilion

Each player receives a personal player board, which features a central star-shaped pattern for tile placement, and a scoring track around the perimeter. The game also includes factory displays, a bag of colored tiles, and a starting player token. The factory displays are filled with a random assortment of tiles at the beginning of each round.

The main objective of Azul: Summer Pavilion is to accumulate the most victory points by the end of the game. Points are earned by strategically placing colored tiles on your personal board, completing sections of the star pattern, and collecting various bonus points throughout the game and during final scoring.

A turn consists of two main phases: drafting tiles and placing tiles. In the drafting phase, players choose to take all tiles of a single color from either a factory display or the central supply. Any remaining tiles from a chosen factory display are moved to the central supply. The first player to take tiles from the central supply also takes the starting player token, which incurs a penalty. In the placement phase, players place the collected tiles onto their personal board, adhering to specific rules regarding color and numerical order within each section of the star. Joker tiles (wildcards) can be used to substitute for any color.

Points are scored immediately when tiles are placed. Players earn points for each tile placed, plus additional points for any adjacent tiles in the same row or column. At the end of each round, players also score bonus points for completing specific sections of their star pattern. Furthermore, there are end-game bonuses for completing all six tiles of a particular color (star points) and for collecting all tiles of a specific number (e.g., all '1' tiles, all '2' tiles, etc.).

The game concludes after six full rounds of play. Once the sixth round's scoring is completed, players proceed to final scoring. This involves tallying points for any completed star sections, as well as bonus points for collecting all tiles of a specific color and all tiles of a specific number. The player with the highest total victory points is declared the winner.
