How do you play BANG! The Dice Game: Undead or Alive?
The game's objective changes once zombies are introduced. If zombies are present, the living players win by eliminating all zombies and renegades (who become 'chasing zombies'). Conversely, the zombies and chasing zombies win if they manage to eliminate all living players. If no renegades are left, all dead players simply become zombies. In an 8-player game with two renegades, the renegade closest to the current player clockwise becomes a chasing zombie, and others remain living players.

The rules, step by step
Setup
To set up the game, replace two of the basic dice with the two new black dice. Shuffle the new character cards into the existing character deck. Conversely, the zombies and chasing zombies win if they manage to eliminate all living players. If no renegades are left, all dead players simply become zombies. On your turn
During your turn, you roll the dice as usual. The new black dice introduce two new symbols: the whiskey bottle and dual guns. If you roll a whiskey bottle, you can heal one damage point and discard one showdown token you've received. If you roll dual guns, you initiate a duel: choose another player, give them a duel die, and they roll it. If they roll dual guns, they return the die to you, and you roll it again. This continues until someone fails to roll dual guns, taking one damage and receiving a showdown token. Showdown tokens with a cross cancel a corresponding die face you keep, but you can reroll to avoid this. A bomb symbol on a showdown token means you get an extra bomb result.
Scoring
If you take two damage in a single round, you gain a runaway card. These cards are kept face down in front of you. At the start of your next turn, you flip all your runaway cards face up. Each card shows additional dice faces (e.g., a beer, a distance 2 attack, a bomb, or a duel) that you can use for that turn, effectively giving you extra actions or benefits. If you draw a showdown token that matches one you already have, you can discard it without needing to reroll.
Game end
When a player is eliminated from the game (due to attacks or any other reason), a cemetery card is revealed at the end of the round. These cards have numbers on them. If the cumulative total of numbers on all revealed cemetery cards is equal to or greater than the number of currently living players, a zombie attack occurs. At this point, all dead players become zombies, and any renegades still alive become 'chasing zombies,' joining the zombie faction. If the cemetery cards never reach the required total, and the game ends by other means, no zombie attack occurs.
Tips
This expansion significantly changes the game dynamic by introducing new roles and victory conditions. The new dice and cards add more strategic choices and unpredictable outcomes. Players who die can re-enter the game as zombies, making every player remain engaged until the very end. The ability to choose which expansion elements to include allows for customizable gameplay, from adding just a few new mechanics to a full zombie apocalypse scenario.
