Bitoku

Bitoku begins with the central game board arranged with various action tracks, river spaces, dice placement areas, and tile pools for resources, buildings, fireflies, and souls. Players receive player boards, an initial hand of cards, starting dice, amulets, and pilgrim tokens. Resources like wood, stone, jade, and sakes are organized in supply trays alongside cards for Bitoku, Yokai, and Dreams.

The main objective in Bitoku is to accumulate the highest victory point total over the course of four rounds. Players achieve this by interacting with the board's spirits and guardians, building structures, advancing pilgrims along paths, fulfilling card conditions, and guiding their souls toward enlightenment.

Each round consists of an income phase, an action phase, and an upkeep phase. During the action phase, players use cards from their hand to unlock and place dice on corresponding action slots. Actions include gathering resources, constructing buildings, moving along rivers, moving pilgrims, and acquiring new cards or guardians. Careful timing is required when crossing the river, as die values decrease.

Scoring happens continuously and at specific milestones. Players score points by deploying buildings, moving pilgrims across various tracks and scoring spaces, fulfilling card objectives at the end of rounds, and managing endgame bonuses. Extra points are also awarded for leftover resources and dice values during final scoring.

The game concludes automatically after the completion of the fourth round. A final scoring phase tallies all remaining objectives, region majorities, and leftover assets before crowning the player with the most points as the winner.
