Black Rose Wars: Rebirth

To set up Black Rose Wars: Rebirth, players choose or draft one of the unique Mages, each featuring distinct health and stats. You receive your corresponding Mage card, a player board for managing health, physical actions, and spell slots, and a starting deck of 6 spells from your chosen school of magic. The modular board is constructed by randomly placing room tiles around the central Room and Throne Room. Event decks, quest cards, and token supplies are organized nearby.

Players take on the roles of powerful mages in the ruined Lodge of the Black Rose, competing to find an ancient artifact and claim ultimate mastery. You must cast spells, summon grotesque creatures, place deadly traps, and manipulate the rooms of the Lodge to outwit and destroy rival mages.

Every round is divided into six distinct phases. It begins with the Black Rose phase, where a global event card is revealed. Next is the Study phase, where players draft new spells from the school libraries. During the Planning phase, mages secretly program up to four spell cards onto their player boards. The Action phase follows, where players execute their planned spells and physical actions in turn order. Finally, the Phase and Cleanup phases resolve lingering effects, room revivals, and prepare the board for the next round.

Victory points are earned by completing secret quests, eliminating rival mages, activating room abilities, and controlling specific objectives. At the end of the game, trophies and scalps collected from defeating opponents grant significant bonus points.

The game concludes at the end of a round once any player reaches the target threshold of 30 victory points. Final scoring is tallied, factoring in remaining achievements, quests, and collected trophies to crown the ultimate Archmage.
