Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon is a settlement game played on a hex-divided board featuring eight islands, randomized resources, and statuette pieces. Each player receives a color-coded set of village and settler tokens, and the resources and statuettes are randomly distributed onto spaces marked with stone circles.

The main goal of the game is to accumulate more points than opposing tribes across two distinct phases—exploration and settlement—by exploring territories, collecting resources, building majority presence, and connecting islands.

During your turn, you take one action by placing a piece onto the board. Settler tokens can be placed on any unoccupied sea space, while villages and settlers with land sides facing up must be placed on land spaces adjacent to your previously played pieces.

Players score points in multiple ways: covering all islands grants 20 points (or 10 for all but one), a continuous chain of pieces across multiple islands yields 5 points per covered island, majority presence on an island grants island-specific points, and matching resource collections or statuettes award bonuses.

Phase one ends when all non-statuette resources are removed or every player finishes placing their pieces, after which scores are tallied. Phase two then begins, clearing the board except for permanent villages, and players repeat the process under new placement restrictions.
