Bora Bora

To set up Bora Bora, place the main game board in the center of the table and distribute player boards, huts, men, and women figures to each player. Shuffle and place the randomized action, building, and task tiles in their designated spaces. Each player receives starting resources, cowrie shells, and god cards. Finally, roll the action dice and place them near the board, preparing the player turn order for the first round.

The main objective of Bora Bora is to accumulate the most victory points by the end of six rounds. Players achieve this by expanding across the island, building huts, recruiting men and women with powerful abilities, collecting jewellery, and fulfilling public task tiles and private god card goals.

Each round consists of three phases. First, players roll their three dice. In turn order, players place one die onto an available action tile on the board, following the crucial rule that any new die must be lower in value than the lowest die already on that tile (unless mitigated by god cards). After all dice are placed, players execute the chosen actions, such as moving on the island, building huts, or acquiring resources. In the second phase, players activate their recruited men and women for special bonuses. Finally, in the third phase, players score points based on their position on the tattoo and priest tracks.

Victory points are scored continually throughout the game and during end-of-round phases. Points are gained by fulfilling public task tiles, advancing on the tattoo and priest tracks, purchasing jewellery with shells, and satisfying secret god card objectives. Additional end-game points are awarded for remaining resources, un-built buildings, and completed major milestones.

The game concludes automatically at the end of the sixth round. A final scoring phase takes place, where players tally remaining points from unspent shells, unused god tiles, and specific end-game majorities, after which the player with the highest total points wins the game.
