Setup

Place the village board centrally, give each player their character dice and two white element dice, and set out face-up piles of forest cards, potions, and creatures according to player count.

The rules, step by step

Setup
To set up Brew, place the village board in the center of the table. Each player chooses a character and takes the matching character dice plus two white element dice. Shuffle the forest cards matching your player count, place one more face-up card than the number of players, and put remaining cards in a face-down deck. Shuffle the potion deck and lay out four face-up potions. Sort the creatures into four face-up seasonal piles, and place resource tokens within reach of all players. The player who most recently brewed a beverage goes first.
Objective
The main objective in Brew is to score the highest number of points by the end of a four-round game. Players compete to control forests, gather resources, train creatures, and brew powerful potions that grant various abilities and victory points.
On your turn
During a turn, players must place one die onto a matching space on either the forest cards or the village board. In addition to placing a die, players may optionally brew a potion by paying required resources and use potions in their hand. Element dice provide special abilities: water dice double resources, wind dice replace placed dice, and fire dice cancel underlying dice during scoring. Village board spaces offer various actions such as gathering ingredients, trading creatures, or removing dice.
Scoring
Scoring happens after the fourth round. Players add up points from trained creatures matched with winning forests (each worth 3 points), forest control, brewed and used potions, and accumulated point tokens. The player with the highest overall score wins the game.
Game end
The game concludes automatically at the end of the fourth round after all forests are evaluated, dice are returned, and the final scoring phase is completed.
Tips
To improve your strategy, experiment with character special powers which can break game rules or grant special actions. Use fire dice strategically to cancel opponent control, force dice placements by spending resources when you lack matching dice, and match your released creatures to corresponding forests to maximize your point values.
