2023's revised edition includes concise rules (22 pages) for WWII in a compact 6x9" format. Requires World War II wargame miniatures*, two ten-sided dice, and a tape measure. A few clarifications and updates have been added. 76 AFVs and 20 guns are categorized into 11 armor/penetration levels. Plus 36 pages of Advanced Rules in the 76-page rulebook. You can get playing fast. Brew Up fits between Leon's precursors, simpler Fast Rules, and more complex Tractics. 18 pages of Game Reference Charts (GRC) are spread throughout the book. Because the book has small pages, the GRCs are not collected into a compilation like the centerfold in Fast Rules and at the end in Tractics. Instead, they are free of charge as a PDF file you can download and print, or purchase a coil-bound GRC booklet from Lulu — GRC pdf & booklet do not include rules, just ten pages of Game Reference charts.

Any model scale will work, from 3mm to 28mm, most commonly used are 12 mm to 20 mm. Individual figures are widely used, but multiple men on a stand can work by marking casualties with a lichen "bush" or using the Team Fire variant.

Each side's unit size is typically from a squad to a platoon (10-40 figures) per side and several tanks and other vehicles (like a platoon or a company, 5-17 vehicles). On a +/- 4x6' table, a ground scale of 25 meters per inch, or with small scales could use centimeters instead on a +/- 30x60" dining table.
