The primary objective of Burgle Bros 2: The Casino Capers is for all players to cooperatively succeed in a heist. This involves navigating the multi-floor casino, avoiding detection by bouncers, locating the Owner's Office on the first floor to gather safe-cracking dice, moving those dice to the Safe on the second floor, and then successfully cracking the safe's combination. Once the safe is cracked, players must then meet the specific requirements of the current Heist Finale card and escape through designated exit tiles. The game is a cooperative challenge against the casino's security system.

Setup
Assemble the 3D casino board using the game box, legs, and playmats, then arrange room tiles, walls, and various tokens and cards according to the chosen game mode (campaign or standalone).
The rules, step by step
Setup
To set up, open the game box and extract all components. Insert the four legs into the corners of the box, ensuring they tilt outward. Place one playmat on the table, then position the box over it, and finally, place the second playmat on top of the box to create a 3D casino structure. Separate room tiles into special tiles (Owner's Office, Safe, Monorail, Escalator) and regular tiles. Shuffle 13 random regular tiles with the special first-floor tiles and deal them face-down onto the first floor. Shuffle the remaining regular tiles and deal them face-down onto the second floor. Place eight wall pieces randomly on each floor between tiles, ensuring no tile is completely enclosed. Organize event decks (Pool and Lounge), dice, heat and counting cubes, and other tokens in a convenient area. Prepare the chips by removing the Saleswoman chip for 1-2 players or a random chip for 3-4 players, then shuffle them face-down. Separate patrol cards into first and second-floor decks. Adjust the patrol decks by adding 'Distracted' cards or discarding patrol cards based on the current suspicion level from the campaign meter. Draw and resolve the initial patrol cards for each floor, placing bouncer figures and destination tokens as indicated. Players select characters, taking their matching cards, figures, and three gear cards. Place character figures on chosen corner entrance tiles, flipping the tile face-up and resolving any 'When You Enter' effects.

On your turn
A player's turn consists of performing up to four actions. Available actions include moving your character to an adjacent tile (not diagonally or through walls), peeking at an adjacent face-down tile (revealing chips and tiles without resolving effects), resolving a 'While Here' effect on your current tile, or prepping a gear card (moving it from behind your character to in front of you for later use, once per turn). After a character completes their actions, the bouncer on the same floor takes its turn. Bouncers move three spaces towards their current destination (marked by a token), always taking the shortest path and moving clockwise if paths are equal. Bouncers ignore chips and most tile effects, except for those with brown banners, which trigger 'When Bouncer Enters' effects. If a bouncer enters a tile with a player's character, that character gains two heat, and the bouncer stops moving. If a bouncer starts its turn on a tile with a character, that character gains two heat, but the bouncer does not move. If a bouncer reaches its destination, a new patrol card is drawn, and the destination token is moved to a new spot. If the patrol deck runs out, the bouncer becomes 'hunting' and targets the nearest character instead of a destination token. Commotions can also alert bouncers, causing their destination token to move to the commotion's location.
Scoring
Burgle Bros 2 is a cooperative game, so there is no individual scoring. Players collectively win or lose. Success is achieved by completing the heist objective, while failure occurs if any character is busted (accumulates six or more heat) or if the Heist Finale requirements are not met. In campaign mode, winning a heist increases the suspicion level by one, making subsequent heists harder, while losing decreases it by one, making future heists easier. The suspicion level cannot go above 10 or below 1. Campaign mode also offers 'Heist Rewards' for successful heists, which are additional perks that carry over into future games.
Game end
The game concludes in one of two ways: either the players achieve a collective victory or they suffer a collective defeat. Players win if they successfully crack the safe by revealing and 'cracking' all the numbered values on the tiles in the same row and column as the Safe, and then fulfill all the specific requirements outlined on the Heist Finale card, finally escaping through an exit tile. Players lose if any character accumulates six or more heat cubes, resulting in them being 'busted'. Additionally, certain Heist Finale cards may introduce unique conditions for losing the game. In campaign mode, the outcome of each heist (win or loss) affects the 'Suspicion Level' for the next heist, influencing its difficulty.
Tips
To maximize your chances of success, prioritize revealing tiles strategically to uncover the Owner's Office and Safe locations. Use 'Peek' actions to gather information without triggering immediate tile effects. Coordinate with your teammates to manage bouncer movements, potentially using 'Crowd' chips or other abilities to evade them. Efficiently prep and utilize your gear cards, as they provide powerful one-time or limited-use abilities that can turn the tide of the heist. Remember to manage your heat levels carefully, as accumulating too much heat on any single character leads to an immediate loss for the entire team. In campaign mode, consider the long-term impact of your suspicion level on future heists.
