The rules, step by step
Setup
To set up Catapult Feud, each player receives a game board, five figures, castle blocks of their chosen color, four black stones, and action cards. Players construct their castle walls freely using the blocks, ensuring stability. Five figures are placed either atop castle blocks or on the ground at a required minimum distance of one unit from any wall. Four catapults and action cards are kept ready near the play area for each participant.
Objective
The ultimate objective of the game is to completely destroy your opponent's army by knocking down all five of their enemy figures using your catapult and black stones. You also target and smash castle blocks to expose and clear out protected enemy figures behind defensive walls.
On your turn
During a turn, a player may place their catapult within a maximum distance of two units from the terrain edge and fire a black stone at the opponent's structures. Players also hold three action cards in hand, which can be played during their turn. Action cards provide special effects such as recoloring fallen walls, stealing opponent cards, taking a second shot, or using the opponent's catapult against them.
Scoring
While there is no traditional point-based scoring system, players track their progress by the number of opponent figures they successfully knock down, as well as the destruction of castle blocks and walls that expose enemy units.
Game end
The game ends instantly when one player successfully eliminates all five of their opponent's figures by knocking them down. That player is declared the winner of the catapult battle.
Tips
Plan your card usage carefully; using the Traitor card lets you pivot the opponent's own catapult against their castle, while Fast Shoot allows two consecutive attacks in a single turn for maximum devastation.
