Century: Golem Edition

To set up Century: Golem Edition, shuffle the golem point cards and place five face-up in a row, placing copper coins on the first two. Place silver coins above the first and second point card positions. Shuffle the merchant deck and lay out six face-up cards, with the leftmost card always free and subsequent cards costing crystals. Sort the crystal tokens by value in ascending order: yellow, green, turquoise, and magenta. Each player receives a caravan board and starting merchant cards with purple borders. Determine the first player randomly, and distribute starting yellow crystals in increasing amounts based on seating order.

The objective of Century: Golem Edition is to become the most successful crystal merchant by trading raw crystals into higher-value gems, acquiring powerful merchant engine cards, and successfully fulfilling golem contracts to score the highest number of victory points.

During a player's turn, they must perform exactly one of four primary actions: play a card from their hand to gather, upgrade, or trade crystals; acquire a merchant card from the market row by paying crystal costs; rest to pick up all previously played cards back into their hand; or claim a golem card by spending the exact crystal combination shown at its base.

Victory points are tallied at the end of the game from the point values printed on claimed golem cards, bonus coins accumulated from claiming specific golem cards, and remaining non-yellow crystals held in the caravan (one point per crystal). The player with the highest total points wins.

The endgame is triggered as soon as a player successfully claims their fifth golem card (or sixth golem card in a two-to-three player game). The round is then played out completely so every player gets an equal number of turns before final scoring commences.
