Cerebria: The Inside World

To set up the game, shuffle the twelve operation cards ensuring alternating symbols on their backs and place them face down next to the board. Use the back of a strong emotion card from Ego's side to track willpower. Shuffle hidden aspirations and emotion cards, placing them randomly in emotion slots across the realms to form distinct triads. Position the influencer and gatekeeper spirits in their respective realm and frontier spaces, and assign initial willpower tokens according to the player count and chosen mode.

The main objective in the solo or co-op game mode is to prevent the Ego from taking over the mind while ensuring the inside world's prosperity. Players must strategically manage their spirits, emotions, and aspirations to counteract the Ego's destructive forces and secure victory.

During a turn, the Ego first checks if it is winning the common aspiration, revealing its hidden aspiration if necessary. It then reveals the next operation card and determines its target aspiration. The Ego performs actions such as invoking, intensifying, quelling, or fortifying based on impact rules and tiebreakers, moving its spirits and managing essence accordingly.

Scoring is achieved by fulfilling common and hidden aspirations, controlling realms and frontiers, and maintaining minor and major fragment fortresses. At the end of the game, additional points are awarded for remaining fortresses on the board.

The game concludes under the standard end conditions of Cerebria, with the exception that the Ego's Wheel of Intentions cannot trigger the game's conclusion.
