Claim

Claim is played in two distinct phases. In Phase 1, players draw a hand of cards from the follower deck, leaving face-up and face-down cards to be collected based on trick outcomes. In Phase 2, the cards collected in Phase 1 become the players' new hands for the remaining tricks.

The main objective is to win the game by gathering the most faction cards across the various factions in your personal score pile, ultimately claiming more factions than your opponent to win.

Each turn is a 2-player trick-taking contest where the leading player plays a card and the second player must follow suit if possible. In Phase 1, winning a trick takes the face-up follower card while losing takes the top face-down card. In Phase 2, winning tricks adds the played cards directly to your score pile.

Scoring happens at the end of the game where players compare the quantity of cards they hold for each faction. The player with the most followers in a faction wins that faction's cards for final scoring, with ties broken by the highest-value card.

The game concludes automatically after exactly 13 tricks have been played and resolved in Phase 2, leading directly into the final majorities count and winner determination.
