Setup
To set up the game, first unwrap the game board and place it in the center of the playing area. Next, punch out the character tokens and weapon tokens from their respective cards. Each player selects a character and takes their corresponding player card, which details their unique stats and abilities. The dice, including one with a question mark, are placed within reach. The deck of regular cards (locations, players, and items) and mystery cards are shuffled and placed face down on the designated spots on the board. The Clue envelope, containing the solution, is placed in the center of the board.

Scoring
CLUE: Critical Role does not feature a traditional scoring system. Instead, the game is a race to solve the mystery. The first player to make a correct accusation, identifying the correct culprit, weapon, and location, is declared the winner.
Game end
The game concludes immediately when a player makes an accusation. If the accusation is correct, the player reveals the cards from the Clue envelope and wins the game. If the accusation is incorrect, the player is eliminated from the game, and play continues with the remaining players.
