Give each player a player board, action and executive markers, scientist meeples, and starting currency based on player order. Sort project tiles, power plants, and tech cubes onto their designated spaces on the board. Shuffle and place environmental goals, U.N. goal cards, and lobbyist cards, then deal secret private goal cards to each player.
Objective
Players take on the roles of green energy CEOs working collaboratively to fulfill global energy demands while preventing catastrophic climate change. Over four decades, your shared goal is to build clean energy power plants, reduce fossil fuel reliance, and complete U.N. and private environmental goals.
On your turn
Each round of the operations phase, players take one full turn in clockwise order. On your turn, you must perform exactly one main action—such as proposing projects, preparing infrastructure, or building power plants—and you may optionally take executive actions like visiting the market, playing lobbyist or U.N. cards, or moving scientists.
Scoring
Scoring happens during the income and environmental phases. You earn money or victory points based on your knowledge track positions, completed infrastructure, and successful project proposals. You lose points for unmet environmental goals or if your score drops below zero.
Game end
The game concludes after four decades. You win collectively if you survive all four rounds and complete the required private and U.N. goal cards. You lose immediately if any player's victory points drop below zero or if global CO2 pollution exceeds 500 ppm.
Tips
Communication is key since you cannot discuss private cards directly. Plan your scientist movements carefully to gain knowledge in multiple energy types, and make sure to balance building green power plants with removing polluting fossil fuel plants before the end of each decade.
