Coloretto

At the beginning of the game, each player receives a starting hand of one orange and one green chameleon card. Three rows are then set up on the board, each with space for a certain number of cards. The remaining chameleon cards form a draw pile, and a reference sheet for scoring is also visible.

The main objective of Coloretto is to collect sets of chameleon cards of the same color. Players aim to have the most cards in their top three chosen colors, as these will yield positive points. Any colors outside of these top three will count as negative points, so strategic collection is key to maximizing your score.

During your turn, you have two main actions: either draw a card from the draw pile and place it on any available row, or take an entire row of cards that have already been placed. Once you take a row, you are out for the current round and cannot take any more actions until the next round begins. This creates a dynamic where players must decide whether to add to a row, potentially making it more appealing for others, or to take a row before it becomes too valuable or detrimental.

Scoring happens at the end of the game. For each color, the number of cards collected is tallied. Your top three colors (those with the most cards) will score positive points according to a reference sheet (e.g., 1 card = 1 point, 2 cards = 3 points, 3 cards = 6 points, etc.). Any colors not among your top three will count as negative points. Joker cards can be assigned to any color to maximize your score, typically boosting one of your top three colors.

The game concludes after a predetermined number of rounds, typically seven. Once the last round is finished and all cards have been collected and scored, the player with the highest total score, after accounting for both positive and negative points, is declared the winner.
