Cosmic Encounter: Cosmic Odyssey

The campaign is played over four games. At the end of each of the first three games, players are ranked based on their scores. The player who comes in first place receives a Master card corresponding to the age being played. The player who comes in last place receives a Wrench card. These cards are held until the finale (the fourth game).

The ultimate objective of the Cosmic Odyssey campaign is to win the fourth and final game. While performance in earlier games influences the finale through Master and Wrench cards, the overall campaign winner is determined solely by who wins the last game.

Before the fourth game (the finale) begins, players resolve their collected Master and Wrench cards. Master cards are played in the order they were received, providing unique advantages such as drawing extra Envoy cards, performing additional Space Station setups, or drawing extra Reward cards. Wrench cards are drawn by the player(s) who came in last in previous games, allowing them to choose one of two drawn Wrench cards to resolve. These cards often introduce disruptive effects that can affect all players or specific game elements.

Scoring in individual games determines player ranking, which in turn dictates who receives Master and Wrench cards. While specific game scores are tracked, they do not accumulate for an overall campaign score. The primary 'scoring' mechanism for the campaign is the strategic acquisition and use of Master and Wrench cards to gain an advantage in the final game.

The campaign ends after the fourth game, known as the finale. The player who successfully wins this final game is crowned the overall winner of the Cosmic Odyssey campaign. The effects of Master and Wrench cards, earned throughout the preceding games, play a crucial role in shaping the conditions and outcomes of this decisive final match.
