Can't get your friends together for game night? Heck with all of 'em! Now you can hunt cryptids all by yourself (ill advised to be certain). But you already have the core West Virginia game deck, Cryptid Hunter: The Elusive Card Game 2.0? No problem. This deck is not limited to the borders of West Virginia and has a whole different set of cryptids and cryptid hunters. Like the other decks, this one is also compatible with the Hand of Ill Fates booster deck.

There are three games modes each with different victory conditions: Survivalist: Survive 3 Cryptid Encounters to win. Tenure: You must have 12 Fame Points after the last Lead from the deck is drawn and resolved. Endurance Hunter: Replenish exhausted decks with discarded cards. Survive to 25 Fame Points.

During setup, the player will take a random Cryptid Hunter card and decide which victory condition they are targeting. This card tells them their stats are that will be used for dice rolls; additionally, it contains their hand limit for the 3 types of cards in the game. Shuffle the Lead, Evidence, Item, and Encounter decks separately, and place the dice nearby. Now you are ready for your Cryptid Hunt.

During gameplay, the player may perform one of the following actions on their turn:

Draw a Leads: Draw a card from the Leads deck.
Discover Evidence: Discard 2 Leads Cards to draw an Evidence card.
Encounter a Cryptid: Discard 2 Evidence Cards to draw an Encounter card. Once a Encounter has been drawn, read and resolve the cards text.
Trade: Discard any 1 card for an Item card.
Note: If a player has hit their potential limit in the Leads, Evidence, or Items, they may not perform actions that would draw additional cards of that type or must ignore drawing cards if the result of a card text.

Encounters could result in damage to the player. The hunter rotates their card 90 degrees to the right after each hit, and once the player has taken a 3rd damage, the hunter is dead, and the game is over. Some cards will heal the hunter allowing them to un-rotate their card 90 degrees of the left.

The game is over when the player has completed one of the three victory conditions or has died.
