Players take on the role of ambitious CEOs of fintech startups, leading elite teams of tech experts to dominate the volatile and unpredictable world of cryptocurrency. You’ll dive deep into fiery markets, making daring trades and mining new coins, while outsmarting rivals by manipulating rumors, controlling information, and avoiding devastating losses.

The game is played over 4 to 5 intense rounds, where players race to build the biggest fortune before the market settles. Each turn, players must decide how to command their team—whether to hire new experts, trade cryptocurrencies, mine new coins, or spread strategic rumors that can tank their opponents’ holdings while boosting their own investments.

Adding a thrilling twist, hidden among the cryptocurrencies is a scam coin, designed to wipe out the fortune of any player still holding it at the end of the game. Throughout the game, players act like detectives, gathering scattered clues hidden in the rumor system to uncover which coin is the fraud. Savvy players must read between the lines, make their moves carefully, and sell off the scam coins before they are financially ruined by them.

Cryptocurrency is a 2-4 players game that puts the players in a battle of wits to make the most amount of money from trading and mining cryptocurrencies. Players can choose to make the following actions during their turn with their Team:

  1. Speculate and manipulate the prices of cryptocurrencies
  2. Create wealth by mining for new coins through a push your luck
    minigame
  3. Manipulate rumors to affect your opponents’ investments while benefiting yours

Some of the rumors are hidden from view and will have an important impact for end game scoring and determining which cryptocurrencies are scams. The cryptocurrency with the least Rumor Points will be declared a scam and lose all of its value.

All players then tally their total wealth by adding their cash and total value of their cryptocurrencies. The player with the most value wins.

Cryptocurrency is best described as stock trading meets detective game, blending sharp market instincts with clever deduction. After 4 or 5 rounds, players tally their cash and the surviving value of their cryptocurrency portfolios. The player with the highest total wealth emerges as the ultimate crypto mogul.
