Cytosis: A Cell Biology Board Game

To set up Cytosis, each player takes a set of worker pawns in their chosen color, initial health cards, and starting resource cubes representing biological molecules. The main game board is placed in the center of the table, featuring various organelles like the nucleus, rough and smooth ER, and mitochondria. Resource cubes representing mRNA, protein, lipids, and carbohydrates are sorted next to the board, alongside decks of health, goal, and event cards, preparing the microscopic arena for action.

The main objective of Cytosis is to successfully build various cell components and fulfill biological health requirements to accumulate the highest number of victory points by the end of the game, demonstrating mastery over cell biology.

During a turn, players take turns placing their worker pawns onto available action spaces across the board's organelles. These actions allow players to collect mRNA transcripts, synthesize proteins or lipids, and process materials through the Golgi apparatus and mitochondria to construct cell parts.

Players score victory points by completing cell components like receptors and enzymes, fulfilling the health requirements listed on their drawn cards, and achieving bonus goals established by specific card collections.

The game concludes after a predetermined number of rounds indicated by the round tracker or when specific resource decks are exhausted, prompting the final tally of all victory points.
