ダグエイトチェス (DaG Eight Chess) is a two player abstract game from Japan, a mix of Chess and Stratego on a smaller 5*5 chequer board.
Players have a small Chess army that move across the board, but as face-down tokens. The pieces are one each of King, Queen, Rook, Knight and Bishop, and three Pawns. These pieces all move and attack as in normal Chess.
But if a player can deduce which piece is which, they can declare a piece's identity instead of moving. If correct, that piece is eliminated. A player wins by getting the eight army pieces, or by getting the King. user summary
