Decisive Battle of the Combined Fleet

Decisive Battle of the Combined Fleet is a tactical level surface naval battle wargame in WW2 Pacific theater. Players control either the fleet of Imperial Japanese Navy or United States Navy, and fight each other. Players manage ships' movement, gun and torpedo attack.

The game includes three historical scenarios and one campaign scenario. All scenarios represent situation of autumn 1942 at Solomon sea.　Campaign scenario repeats four fictional battles in limited force. Winner determined by victory point based on damage given to opponent's ships.

This game was designed for wargame beginners.

Command Japan second editionThe original version of 決戦連合艦隊 (Decisive Battle: Combined Fleet) focused on the night surface battles fought off Guadalcanal in the autumn of 1942, featuring 111 warships—including the Yamato and vessels deployed by both Japan and the US to Ironbottom Sound. The new edition, 決戦連合艦隊・改, adds 82 warships from Japan, the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and the Soviet Union. It also introduces three hypothetical scenarios representing battles that could have actually occurred: the Battle off Malaya, the Battle of Cape Bon (or similar hypothetical engagements), and a clash between British and German fleets. Additionally, rules for daytime combat have been included to enhance playability.

The newly added vessels include state-of-the-art battleships from around the world—such as the Iowa, King George V, Bismarck, and Vittorio Veneto—making it possible to determine which was truly the "world's strongest battleship." Players can also stage fleet-on-fleet showdowns, such as Axis battleship fleets versus Allied battleship fleets. With the significant increase in the number of ships, simulating various historical naval battles is now also possible.
