Setup

Place team screens with four secret keyword cards visible only to your team, and grab a notepad and tokens.

The rules, step by step

Setup
Each team sets up a privacy screen containing four numbered keyword cards that only their members can see. Place the timer, code decks, notepads, miscommunication tokens, and interception tokens in the center of the play area for everyone to access.
Objective
Teams race to successfully transmit secret three-digit number codes to their own teammates using clever word associations, while simultaneously trying to intercept the secret codes being transmitted by the opposing team.
On your turn
Each round, one designated player from each team draws a code card showing a secret three-digit combination. They invent word clues corresponding to those specific numbered keywords on their screen and read them aloud. Both teams then attempt to guess the code based on the clues.
Scoring
Teams write down their guesses. If a team correctly intercepts the opposing team's code, they earn an interception token. If a team fails to guess their own team's code, they receive a dreaded miscommunication token.
Game end
The game concludes after a set number of rounds or instantly when any team accumulates two interception tokens or two miscommunication tokens. The team with the most points wins, with tie-breakers decided by correct keyword guesses.
Tips
Balance your clues carefully: they need to be specific enough for your partner to decode, but vague enough to prevent the opposing team from intercepting your communication network and stealing a token.
