Dice Throne: Season One

To set up Dice Throne, each player selects a unique hero character, which comes with its own set of custom dice, a player board detailing their abilities, and a deck of hero-specific cards. Players also receive a health dial to track their hit points and combat point tokens to spend on card abilities. The game can be played in various configurations, including 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3, allowing for flexible player counts from two to six.

The primary objective in Dice Throne is to be the last player or team standing. This is achieved by strategically using your hero's abilities, dice rolls, and cards to inflict damage on your opponents, ultimately reducing their health points to zero. The game is a competitive battle where players directly attack each other until only one victor remains.

A player's turn in Dice Throne consists of several phases. First, players can play upgrade cards from their hand to improve their hero's abilities. Next, they enter the main phase where they roll their five custom dice up to three times, similar to Yahtzee, attempting to achieve specific combinations listed on their player board. After rolling, players resolve their chosen ability, which can be an attack, a defensive maneuver, or a status effect. Opponents then have a chance to play defense cards to mitigate incoming damage or counter-attack.

Dice Throne does not feature a traditional scoring system. Instead, progress is measured by the amount of damage dealt to opponents and the remaining health of each player. When an attack is successfully resolved, the defending player's health dial is reduced by the amount of damage inflicted. The game is a direct elimination contest, so the 'score' is simply who is left standing.

The game concludes when all but one player or team have been eliminated. The last player or team with health remaining is declared the winner and claims the Dice Throne. The duration of the game can vary, with some matches being quick and decisive, while others might involve prolonged strategic battles between resilient heroes.
