Dinosaur Island: Rawr 'n Write

To set up the solo mode for Dinosaur Island: Rawr 'n Write, first remove three multiplayer-specific cards (Petting Zoo, Insider, and Chaos Theorist) from the deck. Turn the game board to the solo side and draw five AI cards, rotating them to show their goals, which award extra victory points when achieved. Choose three goal cards to guide your game's progression and return the rest to the box. Unlike multiplayer, the solo mode requires drawing six dice from the bag at the start of every action phase and arranging them in a row for assignment.

The main objective is to design and operate a successful dinosaur theme park by breeding dinosaurs, building attractions, hiring specialists, and acquiring security measures. You must balance park appeal with visitor safety to avoid disastrous threat levels while trying to achieve specific target goals drawn during setup.

Each round begins with drawing and rolling six dice from the bag, sorting them in numerical order. You then draw an AI card that dictates which dice must be placed on specific AI action slots, representing the computer opponent's choices. From the remaining dice, you must choose two for resources and one for actions, while any leftover dice increase your park's threat level. This process repeats through multiple rounds until the game concludes.

Scoring is calculated at the end of the game by combining points from your dinosaur exhibits, built attractions, park upgrades, and any successfully completed goal cards. These points are then compared against a reference table in the rulebook to determine your final park rating, ranging from 'Try again' to 'Park of the Year'.

The game ends after a fixed number of rounds as dictated by the standard rules. Once the final round's actions are resolved, play immediately transitions to the end-game scoring phase where all points and completed goals are tallied.
