Setup
Place Mother Gothel's realm in front of you. No locations are locked. Place the Rapunzel tile on Rapunzel's Tower. Place the Mother Gothel's Objective card next to your realm. Shuffle your Villain deck and place it face down on the designated space. Shuffle your Fate deck and place it face down on the designated space.
Objective
Mother Gothel's objective is to regain Rapunzel's trust. To win, you must start your turn with 10 Trust tokens on your character. These tokens are collected by playing specific cards and performing certain actions.
On your turn
At the end of each of your turns, you must move Rapunzel one location towards Corona. If Rapunzel is already at Corona, you lose 1 Trust token. Rapunzel is considered a Hero and covers the actions at her location. If you use the 'Vanquish a Hero' action on Rapunzel, she is automatically returned to Rapunzel's Tower, and any items attached to her are discarded.
Scoring
When you gain a Trust token, take a Power token from the reserve and place it on your character. These tokens are no longer considered Power tokens and contribute to your objective. The more Trust tokens you have, the closer you are to winning.
Game end
You win the game if you achieve your objective at the beginning of your turn, before any of your opponents achieve theirs. This means you must have 10 Trust tokens on your character when your turn begins.
Tips
Gaining Rapunzel's trust is easier when she is at Rapunzel's Tower. Several cards from your Villain deck will help you keep her there. 'Mother Knows Best' prevents Rapunzel from moving at the end of your turn. 'Patchy Stabbington' and 'Sideburns Stabbington' are powerful Allies that allow you to move Rapunzel to her Tower when played to her location. 'Now I'm the Bad Guy' allows you to move Rapunzel to her Tower but costs you 1 Trust token. Other cards like 'Hair Brush', 'I Love You Most', 'Let Down Your Hair', 'Misdirection', 'Crown', and 'Revenge' provide ways to gain Trust tokens, either by playing them, moving Rapunzel, or defeating Heroes.
