The main objective in Dixit is to be the first player to reach 30 points on the score track. This is achieved by successfully guiding other players to guess your chosen card when you are the storyteller, but not making it too obvious. Conversely, when you are not the storyteller, you aim to correctly identify the storyteller's card and have other players mistakenly vote for your card.

Setup
Each player chooses a pawn and a voting dial, places their pawn on the starting cloud, shuffles the 84 Dixit cards, deals 6 face-down cards to each player, and forms a face-down draw pile with the remaining cards.
The rules, step by step
Setup
To set up Dixit, each player first selects a pawn and a corresponding voting dial. Each player then places their chosen pawn on the starting cloud of the score track on the game board. The 84 Dixit cards are thoroughly shuffled, and each player is dealt 6 cards face-down. The remaining cards form a face-down draw pile, which is placed near the game board. If playing with 3 players, each player starts with 7 cards instead of 6.
Objective
The main objective in Dixit is to be the first player to reach 30 points on the score track. This is achieved by successfully guiding other players to guess your chosen card when you are the storyteller, but not making it too obvious. Conversely, when you are not the storyteller, you aim to correctly identify the storyteller's card and have other players mistakenly vote for your card.
On your turn
Each round, a different player takes on the role of the storyteller. The storyteller secretly selects one card from their hand and announces a clue (a word or a short sentence) related to that card. Other players then secretly choose one card from their hand that they believe best matches the storyteller's clue. All chosen cards (including the storyteller's) are shuffled together and placed face-up around the game board, numbered sequentially. Players (excluding the storyteller) then secretly vote for the card they think belongs to the storyteller using their voting dials.
Scoring
Scoring occurs after all votes are cast. If all players correctly guess the storyteller's card, or if no players guess it correctly, the storyteller receives 0 points, and all other players receive 2 points. If some, but not all, players guess the storyteller's card correctly, the storyteller receives 3 points, and each player who guessed correctly also receives 3 points. Additionally, any player (excluding the storyteller) whose card received votes from other players gets 1 bonus point for each vote their card received. Players move their pawns on the score track according to their earned points.
Game end
The game concludes at the end of any round in which one or more players have reached or surpassed 30 points on the score track. If multiple players achieve this milestone in the same round, the player with the highest score is declared the winner. In the event of a tie for the highest score, all tied players share the victory.
Tips
When playing Dixit with only 3 players, the setup changes slightly: each player begins with 7 cards in their hand instead of the usual 6. During the turn, the storyteller still selects one card and provides a clue. However, the other two players each choose two cards from their hand that they feel best match the clue. These two cards, along with the storyteller's card, are then shuffled and placed face-up, creating a total of 5 cards for players to vote on. All other rules, including scoring and the game end condition, remain the same.
