Downforce

Set up Downforce by placing the chosen track board in the center of the table. Distribute score sheets and writing implements to each player. Shuffle the speed cards, setting aside a specific 8-card value pile, and deal an equal number of remaining speed cards to all players. Shuffle the power cards and place one face-up alongside the set-aside 8-speed cards and driver plaques. Finally, place the six race cars randomly onto the starting spaces marked with yellow arrows.

The objective of Downforce is to accumulate the most wealth by the end of the game. Players achieve this by acquiring cars through auctions, influencing their movement during the race, and placing successful bets on which cars will finish in top positions.

On your turn, choose one speed card from your hand and play it face-up. You then move the cars corresponding to the colors on the card the exact number of spaces shown, starting from top to bottom. Movement must always be forward into connected spaces, obeying blocking rules where cars cannot move backward, sideways, or onto occupied spaces unless slipping diagonally between filled spaces.

Scoring is calculated at the end of the game by combining your car's final race payout, your betting winnings from three separate race checkpoints, and subtracting your initial auction purchase costs. The player with the highest total value wins.

The game concludes once all cars have crossed the finish line or when all players have played all available speed cards. Any cars that are blocked and fail to cross the finish line are considered stalled out and do not receive placement payouts.
