Dune: Imperium – Immortality

To set up Dune: Imperium – Immortality, place the new Tleilaxu board alongside the main board. Players take color-matching discs for the tracks, add spice tokens to designated spots, and shuffle the 18 green-specimen-icon cards into a dedicated deck next to the Tleilaxu board. Place the reclaimed forces card nearby, cover the old research station with the new overlay, and shuffle the new intrigue cards into the core deck. Each player receives a family atomic token and replaces two starting Dune desert planet cards with experimentation cards.

The main goal remains achieving victory points to win, but this expansion adds deep genetic engineering and research engines. Players must acquire specimens, advance on the Tleilaxu and research tracks, and strategically combine new graft cards to outperform opponents.

During a turn, players send agents to board spaces. The expansion introduces the graft keyword, requiring you to pair a graft card with another card during an agent turn to combine their placement icons and effects. Players also manage specimens in the axolotl tank to purchase Tleilaxu cards or trigger special abilities during their reveal turns.

Victory points are earned primarily by advancing your marker along the Tleilaxu track and reaching specific milestones on the research track, in addition to standard core game scoring methods like conflict victories and alliance tiles.

The game naturally concludes when a player hits the required victory point goal. The rulebook recommends playing to 11 victory points for a richer experience, or 10 points in a four-player game while starting markers at zero on the track.
