Setup

Replace specific dashboards with 3-4 player versions, and each faction takes three Cone of Silence tokens.

The rules, step by step

Setup
For 3-4 player games, the Atreides player replaces the Siege Tabr dashboard with the 3-4 player version, and the Harkonnen player replaces the Giedi Prime dashboard with the 3-4 player version. Each faction takes three Cone of Silence tokens, which are used for private communication. At the start of each round, each player in a faction draws a single planning card from their sub-faction deck, with a maximum hand size of four cards per player.
Objective
In 3-4 player games, two players will play each faction (or two Harkonnen and one Atreides for 3 players). Both players within a faction play cooperatively to win the game by achieving their faction's victory conditions, which are the same as in the 2-player game.
On your turn
Players alternate actions, with the Atreides faction going first. Players within a faction may choose who takes the action on their turn; they do not have to alternate. Special actions of a named leader may only be used by the player controlling that sub-faction. Vehicle placement for Harkonnen is carried out by the House Harkonnen player. All decisions by the Atreides faction in the Desert Hazard phase are made by the Fremen Ally player.
Scoring
After rolling the dice, the results are divided between the players sharing the faction. Action dice results on both dashboards are distributed between players, and all set-aside dice are evenly distributed as well. Players change their set-aside dice by choosing those that appear the least number of times on the dashboard.
Game end
The game ends when either faction achieves its victory conditions, as outlined in the standard 2-player rules. The total number of action dice are considered when the Atreides faction performs a Desert Power action, not just one player in the faction.
Tips
Cone of Silence tokens are the only way players within a faction can communicate secretly. Discard a token to converse in private; otherwise, all communication is in the open. Any active Imperium Banes affect both Harkonnen players. Any Bene Gesserit tokens gained by a shared faction can be used by either player at the start of the Action Resolution phase, but each faction may only use one token per round.
