Who can achieve the maximum score in which landscape? Can you play the right cards at the right time of day and in the right landscape without incurring too many penalty points or having to discard cards?

Expansion options include nighttime, increased difficulty, and additional cards!

The goal of the game:

Beat your own high score in Solo Mode, as well as in the cooperative 2 player mode, or play against your opponent in the competitive 2 player mode.

Game preparation: In solo play, four placeholder cards are removed from the game. All landscape cards with the morning symbol are placed face down in the center of the table. Leave enough space to the right for additional cards to be added. All other cards, including the remaining landscape cards, are shuffled together and placed face down to form a draw pile to the left of the landscape cards. This is the starting deck, both in solo and 2-player modes. In solo mode, each player starts with 4 placeholders; in 2-player mode, each player starts with 2. In 2-player mode, the player who last took a walk in the woods becomes the starting player.

Gameplay: The starting player (or solo player) draws a card and tries to place it adjacent to one of the laid-out landscape cards. Only cards with a morning symbol can be placed adjacent to the morning cards to score points. The card's value determines the score. If the player places an incompatible card, they receive -2 points, as indicated on the card.

The game ends when the deck of cards is depleted. Then, the points for each landscape are tallied. In a competitive two-player game, the points earned must be recorded immediately during the game. In a solo game and a cooperative two-player game, the scoring takes place at the end.
