Echoes of Time

To set up Echoes of Time, each player receives two action cubes and a time board featuring five time tiles with a sixth tile placed alongside it. Place a central supply of victory points with twelve points per player, and randomly choose one source card per player to place in the center of the table. Create the Echo Fellowship deck and deal seven cards to each player, who then plays one card onto their time board according to the hourglass icon. Additionally, players keep a supply of action cubes and activation tokens ready for gameplay.

The objective of Echoes of Time is to create the best-equipped fellowship of characters from various factions to conquer and control sources of power. Players must strategically manage and modify the flow of time to outshine their opponents and accumulate the highest score by the end of the game.

Each round is divided into three phases: the time phase, the action phase, and the end-of-round phase. During the time phase, the off-board time tile is shifted into the board, moving tiles and bringing cards into fellowship. In the action phase, players use action cubes to perform main actions such as drawing cards, playing cards onto their time board, advancing cards, or conquering and fortifying sources. Players can also perform free flame-effect actions before or after their main actions.

Scoring happens at the end of the game by summing up points accumulated throughout play, points from conquered or fortified sources, and points from cards summoned in your fellowship. Cards with scoring effects provide variable values based on specific conditions met during the game.

The game concludes at the end of the round when any of the following conditions are met: the victory point supply is depleted, a player has twelve cards in their fellowship, or all sources have been fortified. The player with the most points wins, with ties broken by who has fortified more sources.
