The patient in front of you needs urgent surgery, but the operating theatre is occupied and there is breakdown in radiology that requires attention.

Curse those budget cuts, we're left with no choice but to park patients in corridors and risk infections.

Both Ambulance docks are full and oh no! another critically injured patient arriving at the helipad, and to make matters worse you haven't even had your morning coffee yet.

You and your companions are highly respected doctors working in the high-pressure, environment of the Emergency Clinic, dealing with life and death decisions every day.

Working as a team, you each have to co-operate, using your medical expertise to diagnose and treat patients and manage scarce resources, all the while avoiding worsening conditions, infection outbreaks and crises that threaten the lives of your patients.

- Emergency! is a co-operative crisis management and resource management game that also includes competitive elements. Each player assumes the role of a doctor whose job is to work as part of a team to successfully treat sick patients who arrive at the Emergency Clinic and send them home.

Together you must make best use of your own specialist skills, to make life and death decisions affecting; treatment, transport and management of patients using the limited resources available to you, in a high-pressure environment.

As a team you must also deal with numerous infection outbreaks, equipment failures, and deteriorating patient conditions, many of which may lead to drastic situations.

Your Doctor already has a range of specialist skills upon which you may develop, researching new techniques or calling-in other specialists to assist.

To aid you throughout the game, specialised Treatment Rooms also offer additional equipment and bonuses toward treating your Patients. Making best use of these rooms is vital to your success as a team.
