Evolution

To set up Evolution, place the watering hole board in the center of the table. Group the food cubes and food tokens nearby. Shuffle the large deck of cards; if playing with two players, remove forty cards and return them to the box before placing the deck next to the board. Distribute a player screen, a species board with two cubes placed in the lowest number slots on the population and body size tracks, and a player aid to each participant. Finally, give the wooden dinosaur first player marker to the designated start player.

The main objective of Evolution is to successfully adapt your species to changing environmental conditions, develop specialized traits, gather food, and grow populations to accumulate the highest total score by the end of the game.

During each round, players receive cards from the deck, choose cards to play face-down for the watering hole, reveal them to determine food availability, and then take turns creating new species, increasing population or body sizes, and playing trait cards to survive and feed.

Scoring in Evolution takes place at the end of the game, awarding points based on the survival of your species, their final population sizes, the number of trait cards attached to them, and any food they managed to store.

The game concludes when the main card deck is exhausted, leading directly into final scoring to determine which player's evolutionary strategy was the most successful.
