Fallen Favours

Fallen Favours is a trick-taking game for 2-5 players where they are trying to collect the most souls and guide them into the afterlife. Throughout the game, players bid on how many tricks they believe they will earn in the current round. If successful, the “Powers That Be” grant additional souls for you to guide into the Afterlife. Don’t be too greedy or too conservative, missed bids force your souls to slip through your grasp. If you lose souls, the “Powers That Be” provide Favour Tokens to help aid along the journey. If you run out of souls throughout the game, you’ve been shunned and banned to the underworld. Are you able to contest to the last round with the most souls and obtain your rightful place in the Afterlife?

Players will wager how many tricks they will win in the current round. Based on the outcome, they will lose or earn Souls determined whether they achieved their bid or not. The scoring is "tiered" based on how many tricks they bid. Players will earn favour tokens if they did not make their bid. These tokens can be spent on Favours that may give that player an edge on the next round and slightly manipulate the hand or gameplay.

For added variables, objective cards can be achieved throughout the current round. These will offer favour tokens or souls as rewards. Though not necessary to win, they can be used as a catch-up factor or an additional strategy if the current round seems lost to particular players.

The game contains rules for a two-player variant called "Cato". A bot plays alongside that players will control and manipulate throughout the round. The control of Cato is dependant on who is winning the current trick. Cato can also be used in 3 or 4 player games as an added gameplay variant.
