Firefly: The Game

Begin by unfolding the board and placing the various decks of cards—such as jobs, contacts, and gear—in their designated areas. Each player chooses a Firefly-class ship and collects their starting money, reserve cards, and leader tokens. Crew members and supplies are drafted or purchased during initial setup to equip your ship for the dangers of the verse. Ensure all tokens, money markers, and dice are within easy reach of every participant before the first round starts.

The main goal is to successfully complete the specific victory conditions outlined on your chosen story card. Players must navigate the verse, take on legal and illegal jobs, earn credits, recruit a loyal crew, and keep their ship fueled and upgraded.

A player's turn consists of two main phases: movement and action. During movement, you pilot your ship across space sectors using fuel tokens. During the action phase, you can choose to work jobs, visit supply planets to hire crew or buy gear, trade goods, or deal with complications like Alliance patrols and Reavers.

Points and progression are measured through completing story objectives and accumulating wealth. Successfully finishing job cards rewards you with money and influence, which helps you purchase better gear and ship upgrades needed for harder final objectives.

The game concludes as soon as any player finishes the final narrative chapter and fulfills all victory criteria of their story card. That player is immediately declared the winner of the game.
