Folklore: The Affliction

Setting up Folklore: The Affliction involves choosing a story chapter and laying out the corresponding game board, creature cards, item decks, and player miniatures according to the scenario guide. Each player selects a character, takes their character sheet, and prepares their starting equipment and attributes.

The main objective is to progress through immersive story chapters, investigating mysteries, battling terrifying monsters, and uncovering the dark lore of the land. Players must balance combat prowess with investigative skills to achieve the primary scenario goals.

During a turn, players spend action points to move across the grid, attack enemies with melee or ranged weapons, cast spells, and use special abilities. Afterward, enemy AI takes its turn, moving and attacking characters based on specific rules and dice rolls.

Players earn experience, lore points, and coin currency by defeating monsters, completing narrative events, and exploring map locations. These rewards allow characters to level up, acquire powerful weapons, and heal injuries.

The game concludes when players successfully complete the primary goals of the final chapter or when all characters are defeated, ending the scenario in failure and forcing a retry or alternative narrative path.
